If The Power Goes Out
In spite of our aggressive power reliability program, occasional outages still occur due to factors beyond our control, such as storms, auto accidents, tree and animal related causes, and equipment failure. We will make every effort to restore your power as quickly as possible when interruptions of electrical service do occur. With scheduled outages (planned outages to allow for repairs or upgrades), we will make every effort to inform you in advance.
Contact the Automated Outage Reporting System
If you experience an outage, you can help us get your power back on quicker by contacting the Automated Outage Reporting System.Your call helps us to better determine the areas affected.
To report your outage, call PenLight at
253.853.1388
This will access the Automated Outage Reporting System - PORCHE (Primary Outage Response Call Handling Equipment).
By using this system, your account information will automatically alert the outage database, AS LONG AS the home phone number in our billing system matches the phone number you are calling from. If the system does not recognize your phone number, it will prompt you through some recordings to enable you to leave your name, phone number, and address of the outage occurrance. This is common for customers calling in an outage on their cellular phones.
By using the automated outage reporting system, we are immediately aware of your outage call - name, account number, home phone number, service location, equipment servicing your residence, and general area of the outage. This allows us to track outage areas faster and more precisely.
We also use the automated outage reporting system to post updates on areas affected by outages, and if known, the cause of the outage and estimated restoration time.
