Changing Standards for Meter Installation
How does this affect you?
The standards for meter installation have recently changed. All installations must now be underground, and the cable must be enclosed in conduit. Please carefully consult our meter standards prior to installation. Note: Peninsula Light’s standards exceed the national code (your contractor may not be aware of this).
You are also required to obtain an electrical permit from the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) prior to installation. L&I’s new address is: 950 Broadway, Suite 200, Tacoma, WA; phone (253) 596-3808.
