A local member owned mutual cooperative electrified in 1925 — providing electric and water services to over 25,000 members. Our service territory includes the Gig Harbor and Key Peninsulas, extending roughly from the Tacoma Narrows (on the south) to the Kitsap County line (to the north), covering 112 square miles in Western Pierce County, Washington.. Peninsula Light Company is the second largest cooperative in the state of Washington.

Reliability Redirection

PenLight's board will shift priority to ensure safe, reliable power to the membership. In past years, undergrounding has been the primary focus for system improvements. In 2008 PenLight will redirect its focus to transmission improvements to compliment the undergrounding efforts
