Replace + Recycle = Rewards
Washington State Cash for Appliances rebates are available on qualified ENERGY STAR® refrigerators and high-efficiency clothes washers. The following appliances will be eligible for rebates:
- ENERGY STAR® Refrigerators (greater than 9 cubic feet) - $75 rebate
- ENERGY STAR® High-efficiency Clothes Washers (Modified Energy Factor (MEF) 2.46 or greater and Water Factor (WF) 4 or less) - $150 rebate
Rebates will be available beginning March 15, 2010 and are offered for qualified products on a first come - first served basis until funds run out!
- Washington State residents must purchase a qualified appliance on or after March 15, 2010
- Rebates are not retroactive and homeowners cannot claim a rebate for an appliance purchased before March 15th.
- Rebates are for residential consumers only. Landlords and property managers are not eligible for this program.
- Appliance must be installed in a Washington State residence and are for the replacement of existing appliances.
- All Washington State households are eligible to receive one clothes washer and one refrigerator rebate.
- Proof of refrigerator recycling or decommissioning is required.
Recycling service can be completed through:
- Retailers at the time of purchase.
- By checking http://1800recycle.wa.gov to find local appliance recycling service.
- Penlight’s recycling program will pay $30 to properly recycle your old refrigerator, and make you eligible for receiving the Washington Cash for Appliances Program;
